The Wild

Each tree in the forest doesn’t have its own special name.

Deer and squirrels don’t respond when you call for John or David.

Wild animals are wild, but they’re just as much a product of nature as we are. As everything is.

Other animals don’t have names, but humans do, and upon those names they build their persona.

From a name sprouts an identity and a story. A foundation for endless likes and dislikes, infinite opinions and dramas that hold no actual significance.

From a name grows an illusion that most will never think to question.

Society reinforces the illusion everyday.

Every single person in our life reinforces our story daily, through their expectations of us and the roles they see us play: spouse, employee, boss, parent, American.

Label after label.

But who would we be in the wild?

Who would we be if we were never given a name?
